Rayne looked away, partially embarrassed. She couldn't say much like he did, but she liked to listen to him talk, it was as if his voice calmed her even more. She enjoyed the feeling, that was for sure. With her free arm she wrapped it around his that held her hand. She looked up to him and smiled softly. She noticed the bandages around his neck and wanted to reach up for them, see what was underneath, but she settled for what she had at the moment, besides she felt that it was better she didn't ask him. She watched the stars flutter by. It was a sight to see. She never really got to look at the sky like that, she always spent her nights in the comfort of her bed reading.
"Stars seem so far away. I've never really got to look at them like this, I've always been inside, caught up in books, viewing life from that standpoint. It's all so beautiful lit up in the night, I'll definitely have to come out more often." She said with a sigh. It was true what she said about books. She used them as an escape from the real world to live through someone else's life. To forget about hers, who she was, what she knew, everything, just for a little while. It was better than sitting and wasting her life away, thinking about the past. At least she could bury the thoughts and loosen up a little, just relax for a while.
She didn't understand what he meant when he said she was glowing. Yet when she looked at her arms she reeled away in shock. She stopped and stared at the dull golden glow emitting from her body. Fear soon crept inside her and it faded away. She hugged her cardigan tight against her and walked up to Justin's side once more and held his hand very lightly, still feeling a slight tinge of fear and shock. "That never happens.." She said in a mouse like squeak..

Justin took a minute to keep on watching her before she to realized she was glowing. It seemed to him now that it had something to do with her past. Her reaction was surely something that must of lead to a bad moment in her past. Possibly being made fun of for glowing or something worse. His gaze on her softened and his grin disappeared. Turning to face her after she took hold of his hand again he took a moment to think it over but just felt like he would do it and see what happened.
Taking hold of both her hands he knelt down onto one of his knees and looked to her almost at eye level. Using his hands to guide hers he brought her hands to his neck. Maybe this way was a way that they could heal even if just a little. It was worth letting one in and if it was to be one. It should be her. Sliding a finger passed her hand he pulled free the bandages so they stayed loose around his neck. Sliding her hands under the bandages she would feel scratch marks all over his neck. As the bandages slid off a bunch of scars were showing through across his neck. Speaking in a soft voice he looked at her and felt he had to do this now.
"I'm afraid to show people these. People just made fun of me for them and teased me. Now I hide them so I don't scare people. I got these a long time ago. I could of probably had them fixed but they remind me of my will to survive."
Leaning his head forward he pressed it gently to hers and continued to look at her as he held her hands. He knew that he was scary and that this only proved the fact he had a violent past. This girl to him was so pure that it made him feel even more like a monster. Yet at the same time it was her light that reminded him that he was still human, cause he could still feel something when he saw her. Speaking in a soft voice he spoke his voice calmer and his eyes filled with emotions now.
"If you want to run or if your scared of me cause of these I can't blame you, but I can't stop wanting to see that beautiful glow of yours. I can even see it in your eyes....It's life...."

Rayne didn't expect what he did next. Kneeling before her she looked at him with a confused expression on her face. She blinked as he lead her hands to the bandages around his neck. She hoped that somehow she didn't pressure him into doing that. Her hands ran over the damaged skin, those scars. It tugged at her heart just to feel them. Upon seeing them, she felt the urge to gasp in shock. She ran a finger along one of the larger scars and openly welcomed it when he began to talk. She touched his neck softly, running her fingers across the scars, a lump forming in her throat.
"You shouldn't be afraid." She replied in a soft voice, laying her hands on his neck. When he pressed his forehead to hers she closed her eyes tightly to fight back the emotions swelling inside her. It was hard to fight back the tears now. She tightened her lips and listened as he talked about if she wanted to run. Running from him was the last thing she wanted to do.
She took a deep breath and opened her eyes again. She swallowed the tears for now and just looked him over, running her hands over his neck before dropping them to hold his hands. "You shouldn't be like that, you know I won't run." She whispered, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him closer, falling to her knees as well. "I'm not afraid.." She added with a soft, small smile.

"I'm not afraid of you...."
Justin spoke in a soft voice as he looked at her with calm eyes. As he felt her fingers run along his neck he felt jolts of a cool soft feeling rushing through his body. When she continued to speak and saw her smile Justin couldn't help but wrap his arms around her. Seeing her start to feel all the emotions Justin just smiled lightly and slid his hand along side her face. It was so strange that he could let all this happen in one night. Was it really like this for normal people. Was it so easy to let someone touch him and not have to worry that they will harm him. No it was only her and if it was to be like that then he would be happy.
"If you keep treating me like this...I'm never going to want to let you go..."
Justin let out a light chuckle and wiped her cheek gently. Fixing a single strand of hair that was out of place he moved his hand back to her side he lifted his body up over hers. Leaning over he closed his eyes and pressed his lips to the top of her head. Holding it for a moment he pulled away and slid his hands to hold hers. Speaking in a soft voice he continued to smile and just kept watching over her.
"Thank you....Rayne..."
Standing up he gently pulled her up with him and he was glad that he let her in and actually touch his neck. It was something not many people would find special but when you have something that almost took your life and then marked you. It becomes something more meaningful. Fixing the bandages around his neck he took hold a slightly more serious look but his eyes still held that calm light in his eyes. Lifting up the hand he held of hers he just spoke in a soft tone and looked towards the exit to the park.
"You ready to continue are walk Rayne....?"

She closed her eyes as he touched her face. The gesture was so welcome. Not only that, but she felt secure and happy, being so close to him. It made her feel like she didn't have to fear anything in the world for once. It was definitely a welcome sensation. She seemed to gravitate to his touch, leaning to feel more of his hand on her cheek. In a way, Rayne was embarassed, but it didn't show.
She smiled and let out a soft laugh. She ran a hand along his neck once more and opened her eyes to look into his. "I'm not saying you have to, am I?" She replied with a smile.
Rayne liked the way he adjusted her hair, it was a friendly movement, something she wasn't used to, but could sense the innocence behind it. That, of course was happily welcomed. When Justin first stood up, she was afraid he was getting up, but what followed shocked and flattered her. Feeling his lips press against her forehead, she could feel a slight blush crawl across her cheeks. When he moved his hands to hold hers, she responded with a light squeeze.
"Thank you.
She wrapped an arm around his waist and hugged him, leaning her head against his chest. She could feel a connection between the two, something she didn't get with many people other than her parents. She closed her eyes and she could feel that light feeling grow inside her once more. She looked up to watch him speak.
"Ready as ever Justin."

"Okay then lets go..."
Justin started walking with her at his side and enjoyed the connection he felt between the two. He never had a connection like this and he found himself becoming more entangled with her. Placing his free hand back into his pocket he started walking out the park looking as the people walking by. His eyes making contact witch each of them as they passed by like someone who was looking right through them. His frown returned and he felt a bit of his nerve come back. He still hated being around people but he was even more protective of what was in his hand. Speaking in a soft voice he gently held her along side him as they started to head towards the Pharmacy and small apartment building.
"I just need to stop by....a person's house and drop off something. I promise it won't take long. Sticking around is something I try to avoid....."
Letting out a light sigh he just hoped that this was going to go over fast. This was not so well thought over by him but it was to late to change it around now. After the amount of people around him started to thin out as they walked calmly down the road Justin stopped right in front of a small apartment building and knocked on the door. Holding Rayne's hand became so comfortable that he totally forgot that he was even doing it. A speaker came on next to the door of a woman who sounded very annoyed at the moment. Letting out another sigh he just spoke towards the speaker and it all changed.
"It's me....now open up...."
"....Justin! My little stray puppy~"
"What the hell......"
The intercom yelled out with a ring of surprise and Justin only replied in his usual annoyed tone. A rushing of what sounded like an elephant going down a flight of stairs followed. It was then the door flew open and a young looking woman with blond hair and a band shirt with jeans opened the door. Her facial expression was the exact opposite of Justin's. It was stuck in a solid kind smile while his a frown. She had a kind and angelic like face, like she could do no wrong while Justin was the exact opposite. She reached out hugging Justin and he just stood looking even more annoyed. She pet him briefly before she noticed Rayne. She spoke in a kind clear voice while Justin remained silent.
"Oh....hello dear. You must be my son's...."Friend"...."
She smiled and gave a light wave before Justin stepped forward a bit. Holding out a small package he pressed it against his mother's stomach and she stepped back still smiling. Justin spoke in a soft voice as he started to turn with Rayne to walk away.
"Well if that's everything I'll be going. I'll see you tomorrow....."
"Be good Stray...and if you do something wrong mommy will know...."
Justin tensed up at her final bit of words as he felt the hidden tense sense of danger behind them. He continued to walk though till he was well enough away from that place still holding onto Rayne before he spoke again. The pharmacy was close now so the night should go just fine now. So he hoped any way.
"I'm sorry if she made you a bit nervous. She is a bit....different."

She happily followed Justin, maybe they would actually get her vitamins. Although she actually hoped that he would take back to the academy. It was getting late, and who knew what kind of people lurked the streets of Chicago. Yet when she was with Justin she felt safe, she hardly ever felt safe around other people.
The apartment building loomed over her, it was so big. She gripped the sleeve of his jacket as he buzzed into it. The woman over it seemed to know him. She looked to him with a confused expression, but waited patiently. She had a feeling it was his mother or sister, or someone like that.
The woman coming out seemed bright as a ray of sun. She seemed happy, enthusiastic, everything. Yet when Rayne looked to Justin, he looked nearly the opposite, it was as if he didn't want the affection. She had to think for a moment, didn't she hug him? Did he secretly not like it? Did she make him feel uncomfortable. All these thoughts made her feel slightly uneasy.
After the woman went back in, she tugged on his sleeve. "Do I make you feel uncomfortable like that?" She asked in a meek, squeaky voice.
