Alex ran his fingers through his sopping wet hair. He sat by the edge of the school pool, alone in the room. His feet hung over the edge of the pool, dipping themselves into the water. He ran circles in them with his feet. The sunlight glinted through the glass windows and struck his abs. Being good looking wasn't good enough for girls, but that was how he wanted it. So long as he kept up his attitude, nobody would fall in love with him. The only problem was that he didn't know if he wanted that.
The other thing that he didn't understand was why he was swimming. He hated water, and he hated swimming. He wasn't even on the swim team. Truthfully, he had done nothing but lay on his back on the water. It felt somewhat relaxing, and it dulled his senses. He felt as if he questioned too much in his life. He wished everything could be simple, that he could find another girl and that he could stop being a douche to everyone he met.
He stood up, and he wrapped a towel around his lower body. He leaned up against the wall, the wall that had the doors that led to the locker rooms. He looked out at the rising sun, and school was about to begin. He stood, deciding to take the sunrise here in. He felt his hardened facial expression soften as he looked longingly out the glass windows.

Rayne walked down the hallway and ran a hand through her hair. She had cut it the night before, it was getting too long. Sometimes, when it was just cut, she missed those long brunette locks, but she only had to wait a few days before it would grow back to around the same length. Something in her blood that made it grow faster than normal, which was sort of odd to her, in a way.
Lately, she had been forgetting things all over the academy. Yesterday she forgot her favorite book in the library, a few days before that her vitamins in a classroom. She thought that maybe it was because she was stressed, which seemed like a logical answer to her at the time. She usually began to overthink it at this point, but it was too early in the morning and her mind was still hazy. "It's either by the pool, or in the locker rooms." She said, mid-yawn. Yesterday evening she forgot her gym bag in there, and she needed it because it had her spare vitamins inside. She didn't have to get up as early as she did, but she woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. As that sometimes happened with her.
Maybe I'll go for an early morning swim, I've still got a while before my first class. She thought to herself, looking at the yellow rubber band around her wrist. If she felt like it once getting in the area, maybe she'd go for it. She tugged at the short hair once more, looking across the hall in disappointment. She had a feeling someone, sometime today, would say something about it, and today wasn't really one of those days she felt like being talked to very much, especially about herself.
She pulled open the doors and stepped inside the pool area.
